Single Moms' Support Group

It takes a community to raise a child

Are you a woman parenting alone? Would you like to share your successes and challenges with other single moms? Then join our professionally facilitated Single Mothers Support Group to access companionship and community resources that will help to lighten your load. The groups are co-sponsored by the Vancouver YWCA, and serve women of all ages, from all backgrounds. In this safe and informal environment, single moms will be encouraged to make positive choices that will brighten their futures, and the futures of their children. Workshops address issues like self-esteem, planning for the future, financial literacy, housing and childcare.

Benefits of joining the group include: food vouchers for those in need, membership at YWCA Fitness Centre, group workshops 4 times a year, access to YWCA housing, YWCA thrift shop vouchers, tickets to community cultural events.

Childcare is provided.

Cost: $ 1.50 per day for childcare.

Saturday 10:30 am - 12: 30 pm.

Spanish Support Group for Women

Spanish speaking support group provides information sessions to the increasing Spanish speaking community in the West End and offering referrals to services according to the needs of the group.

Drop in program:
First Tuesday of the month 4:30pm - 6:30pm.

Chat, think, play a game of cards, or enjoy a cup of coffee. A warm and safe environment for anyone feeling the stress of every day living. A project of the West End Neighbours in Action.

Cost: Free.

Friday and Sunday 5:00 pm - 8 pm.
